Beginning to date again after a break-up
If you’ve recently ended a relationship, you may need to take some time before you start thinking of dating again. Only you will know when the time is right; but when it is, you should seize the opportunity to climb back into the saddle again. Often times, the problem when a lesbian couple splits up, is that the friends the two of you had as a couple usually stay friends with only one of you. It’s fine to take some time to mourn your relationship and ease the heart ache, but eventually you have to become part of the world again. Ease yourself in slowly, but find fun things of interest that will make this transitional period easy on you.
There are plenty of opportunities to get your social life back in order once you are ready. There are meet-up groups and lesbian dating sites; there are classes you can take at the local community center, or you might want to become involved with local charitable organizations or do some community theatre. The sky is the limit; it is really just up to you.
Intimacy may not be what you are looking for if you’re still reeling from a recent break-up. But that doesn’t mean you can’t date! Go out and meet some of the great women that are out there. Yes, breakups are difficult and they you do need a certain amount of time to mourn their loss. But it will do you a world of good to get back out into the social arena where you can make some new friends and when you least expect it, you may just meet that special someone who help you forget that aching heart of yours.
